Exercise 3 - Cast Shadows
Assignment
You will draw a box, cone, cylinder, and sphere in perspective with cast shadows. This exercise is about perspective, value, and cast shadows. Be sure to make your perspectives accurate and use the entire range of values.
Craft
Make your lines straight, sharp crisp and clean. Clean up any pencil marks, smudges, and fingerprints. Protect your drawings by placing them in a folder. You will need them for critique week in the spring.
Materials
Drawing paper and drawing pencils (4H to 8B)
Deliverables
Four 8.5 by 11 inch Drawings: a cube, cylinder, cone, and sphere with shadows. Include a value scale on each drawing.
Value - 50pts
Points are earned by accurate perspective, high level of detail, wide value range, high level of craft, and following instructions including meeting all of the specifications in the project brief (this page).
