Exercise 6 - Curved Objects
Assignment
You will draw an object of your choice that is curvilinear. First, you will create the constructed drawing, and then use tracing paper or a light pad to transfer the primary lines to a new sheet. Then, you will render details, shadows, and highlights. This exercise is about perspective, value, detail, highlights, and cast shadows. Be sure to make your perspectives accurate, and use the entire range of values. Keep the basic form fairly simple. This is much more difficult than it seems!
Craft
Keep your pencils sharp so your lines are crisp and clean. Clean up any pencil marks, smudges, and fingerprints. Use an entire sheet of drawing paper for each drawing. Protect them in a folder. You will need them for critique week in the spring.
Materials
Drawing paper and drawing pencils (4H to 8B)
Deliverables
