Loose binding - Exercise 2
Assignment
Use your X-Acto knife to cut 10 sheets of sketch paper to exactly 5” x 5” squares. Then create an approximately 10-1/4” x 5” sheet of Bristol with two folds that create a neat loose cover for the stack of paper. Finish the booklet by wrapping a clean black rubber band around the book to hold it together.
Craft
Make your cuts perfectly straight, sharp crisp and clean. Use an X-acto blade to cut the cover roughly to size. Use a ruler to measure the folds, a bone folder to score the fold line, a ruler to act as a brake, and crease the folds with the bone folder. Finally, use the X-acto to cut the cover exactly to size. The demo videos below go through each step of the process.
