One Black Square - Exercise 1
Assignment
Use rubber cement to mount a 2” x 2” black Artagain paper square (provided in class) in the correct position on a 10” x 6 3/16” piece of Bristol board. Then mount your rectangle and square composition on a piece of black presentation board that creates a 1 inch “frame” around your work. We will flap the final piece with tracing paper in the next class period.
Ask me no questions! Just think, and do the best you can.
Learning Objectives
To explore the relationship between objects and format in two dimensional compositions and to continue to create works that have no unintended visual information (e.g. smudges, extraneous marks and other indications of poor craft).
Craft
Make your lines perfectly straight, sharp crisp and clean, and take the time to clean up all stray pencil marks, smudges, and excess rubber cement.
