Portfolio - Project 4
Intro
This is it folks! This is your chance to go back and revisit, rethink and revise ALL of your previous work using everything you’ve learned, all the practice you’ve had, and all the feedback you’ve received. The development and maintenance of a portfolio is a constant and career long effort. It’s how you’ll get your first job (and every job after), it’s what you’ll show to clients to convince them to hire you, and it’s what you’ll need to apply to grad school. Your portfolio IS WHO YOU ARE AS A DESIGNER! So it needs to be your very best work. It is NOT everything you’ve ever done in the world. It IS twelve to fifteen of YOUR VERY BEST PIECES. The things that say “I’m a genius! Hire me! Look how deeply I can think and how well I can create what I’ve thought of! I’m amazing, and YOU want ME to work HERE!”
Assignment
Create a professional portfolio of your BEST work from ALL of your Design Foundations courses.
What to do
-Upload all of your work to your personal Dropbox folder via the link provided by Sam Ladwig.
-Get feedback from your instructor and classmates in open class critique on the Slack Channel.
-Based on your thoughts on your own work, class critique, and instructor feedback, your portfolio will include: All 7 DF1 exercises (these are not revised and intended to show skill development related to drawing and craft), 4 projects total from DF1 and DF3 (you may revise or revisit projects if you wish), 5 projects from DF2 and DF4 (you may revise or revisit these projects if you wish)
